Family day

The Museum goes to the circus

Via the themes of circus and theatre, the Museum invites you to the third edition of its Family Day this Saturday, 30 October.
Join us to explore the city under the city. Discover the Porte d’Anderlecht neighbourhood as it celebrates, right down to its underground passages. Put on your rubber boots, bring your flashlight and become explorers of this strange and fascinating world.

On the programme of this festive day:

  • Monster Parade by the Magic Land theatre: all ages
The sewers of the City of Brussels are home to a world you probably never suspected existed. The most varied and bizarre creatures have taken up residence there. Rats, of course, as well as mutant, hybrid beings, half animal, half human, many of them large and frightening …
You will of course have trouble understanding their language and yet they bear a message for you. Everything you throw into your waste water decomposes slowly as it makes its way to the sea. And so the monsters of the sewers have had enough of all the rubbish that is building up. They decided to leave their underground lair to overrun the Porte d’Anderlecht neighbourhood. They invite you to join their joyful sarabande and then disappear … As soon as you have become aware of their existence, their only wish is to return to their catacombs, this labyrinth of sewers that they should never have left …
